CHAINLINE
THIS GUIDE IS DESIGNED FOR DH/DS BICYCLES. WITH BIGGER TIRES, A WIDER CHAINLINE IS REQUIRED TO CLEAR THE TIRE AND TO ALLOW THE MOUNTING OF THE CHAINRING IN THE MIDDLE POSITION. THE CHAINRING SHOULD LINE UP WITH THE 3RD/4TH COG UP IN THE REAR. YOU CAN GO AS WIDE AS NEEDED TO CLEAR FRAME COMPONENTS SINCE THE GUIDE WILL KEEP THE CHAIN ON. IF THE CHAINLINE IS TOO WIDE, THE CHAIN WILL SKIP ON THE BIGGEST COGS. FOR THE MOST PART YOU ONLY USE 5 OR 6 RATIOS. IF YOU ARE IN THE BIG COG AT ANY TIME, THAT IS AN INDICATION THAT YOU NEED A SMALLER CHAINRING.CRANKS & BOTTOM BRACKET
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING A CRANK AND BB ASSEMBLY THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE 2 DEGREE-FOUR FLAT SPINDLE STANDARD. THE PROFILE STYLE BMX, XT OR XTR TUBE TYPE, AND THE ISIS 10 SPLINE ARE FINE EXAMPLES. CHECK YOUR CRANKS OFTEN FOR A TRUE RUNNING CHAINRING.

1) 8 X 5/8 FLAT HEAD SHEET METAL SCREW
12) 6MM THICK WASHER
10) 6MM THIN WASHER
3) 6MM THREAD INSERT1. DISASSEMBLE THE CRANKS AND BOTTOM BRACKET. CLEAN ALL OF THE PARTS THOROUGHLY. REMOVE ANY PAINT FROM THE ENDS OF THE BB SHELL.
