5. USE 2) 5 X 16 SHCS TO ATTACH THE TOP GUIDE TO THE MOUNT PLATE. BOLT THE MOUNT PLATE TO THE FLANGE RING WITH 3) 6 X 16 FHCS. THIS IS FOR AN ALIGNMENT CHECK SO THE FASTENERS ONLY NEED TO SNUG.
6. BOLT THE CRANKS ON AND TORQUE TO THE CORRECT FT/LBS. THE CHAIN RING SHOULD BE A LITTLE “OUTSIDE” OF THE MUD SLOT. IF THE CHAINRING IS “INSIDE” THE SLOT YOU MAY NEED A WIDER BB.
7. THE CORRECT ALIGNMENT IS TO HAVE THE CHAINRING IN THE CENTER OF THE MUD SLOT. USE THE THICK AND THIN WASHERS TO “SHIM” THE MOUNT PLATE TO ACHIEVE THIS. IT MAY TAKE 2 OR 3 TIMES TO GET THIS RIGHT. ONCE YOU HAVE THE MOUNT PLATE IN POSITION, RE-MOVE THE CRANK AND TIGHTEN THE 3) 6 X 16 FHCS AND THEN THE CRANK.
8. FOR DUAL SLALOM, THE CHAIN WILL ENTER THE TOP GUIDE WITH THE CHAIN JUST ABOVE THE ROLLER. TAP THE MOUNT PLATE CW/CCW TO ACHIEVE THIS LOCATION.
9. FOR DOWNHILL, THE CHAIN WILL ENTER THE TOP GUIDE WITH THE CHAIN POINTING UPHILL. THIS IS TAKING INTO REGARD THAT DOWNHILL BIKES HAVE MORE TRAVEL AND AS SOON AS THE RIDER IS ON THE BIKE, THE SUSPENSION COMPRESSES. TAP THE MOUNT PLATE CW/CCW TO ACHIEVE THIS LOCATION.
